Turnfire is a 2D, turn-based, pixel art artillery game.
Compete with up to 3 players and be the last one standing!

How to play:

  • press play
  • choose singleplayer or multiplayer
  • (for an online game: create or join a room) 
  • select the map
  • select the number of players / bots
  • select the bot diffculty (in case of singleplayer)
  • toggle the usage of gameplay timer
  • play!

Gameplay:

  • Each player has a team with a couple of characters.
  • There are multiple type of characters, with varying health and initial items.
  • During a round, characters are randomly selected to be controlled by the players.
  • A character's turn has two phases: one for moving and one for using items
  • After all players have controlled at least one character, there is a chance for packages (containing items) to drop from the sky.
  • After all packages have landed the round finishes.
  • The game continues until at most one team remains. 

Controls:

  • jump, shoot, confirm - left mouse button / south controller button
  • inventory toggle  - space / west controller button
  • back - right mouse button / east controller button
  • skip action - enter / north controller button
  • pause / resume - esc / start button
  • show map - m / right stick press

The final version (v1.0) includes:

  • local multiplayer
  • online multiplayer
  • singleplayer with bots (easy, medium and hard)
  • 3 character types (grenadier, gunslinger and tank)
  • 5 weapons (grenade, gun, cannon, lasergun and knife)
  • 2 armors (bulletproof vest, boots)
  • 1 consumable (first aid kit)
  • 3 maps!

Notes:

  • The game is finished, all features are fully implemented.
  • All visual and sonic art was done by myself from scratch ( mostly via LibreSprite and Ableton Live).
